The farms in the Trout Lake Valley are well known for their minimal use of pesticides and herbicides. The valley is home to three organic dairies, one large-scale organic herb farm and multiple small organic farms. There are no industrial plants, railways or freeways within thirty minutes of the valley. The valley is also known for its abundant natural beauty. Mt. Adams presides at the head of the valley and the White Salmon River flows through on its way to the Columbia River Gorge. The valley boasts lovely forest lands, lush farms and wildlife. Real wilderness is close at hand where camping, hiking, fishing, whitewater kayaking and rafting are readily available.
